On September 12th, 2017, Provision restaurant welcomes guests inside the newly opened Ironworks Hotel located at 2721 East 86th Street, near 86th and Keystone on Indianapolis’ Northside.

Cunningham Restaurant Group’s (CRG) newest location is set on the second floor of the Ironworks Hotel. Provision provides a casually elegant atmosphere felt the moment you enter the ground floor entrance. High ceilings of soft wood illuminate the space set with formal tablescape and watercolor-esque carpet flooring. The carpeted floors keep general volume hushed so guests can feel the energy of the dining room and enjoy conversation.

Seating in the main dining rooms is open to the spectacle of the open kitchen. Chef Layton Roberts, formerly of Vida, conducts his team across the kitchen window while entertaining the guests sitting at the twelve seat Chef’s Table. Gifts from the Chef, amuse-bouche and one-on-one conversation of flavors and technique, can be expected from the counter-height table. Side-by-side seating looking into the kitchen offers a “show-like” and interactive experience.

"I'm really excited about the lack of boundaries the Chef's Table will have; having small amounts of special products and do them differently every day. I expect the same execution level as Vida and also hope that we will reach a broader audience with the style of menu we have at Provision." - Chef Layton Roberts

Chef Layton has been a valuable member of Cunningham Restaurant Group since 2010. His passion for seasonally sourcing local and regional ingredients drive his creativity and range of techniques to create plates of art on the North side. With direction from CRG’s Executive Chef Carl Chambers, Chef Layton designs the seasonal menu changes to showcase what is growing in and around the region year-round. Provision features the Farmer’s Platter Tasting to present Dewig Brother’s Filet, Fischer Farms Short Rib, and Viking Farms Double-Cut Lamb Chop; Cunningham’s own CRG Grow Greenhouse produce; and accompaniments and sweets from Sundae’s Ice Cream and My Sugar Pie’s Sugar Cream Pie. “The Tasting” is just that – an opportunity for guests to taste through the menu.

Bartenders entertain the sixteen bar seats facing the open patio. The cocktail list features classics including the Bobby Burns for the scotch lover and the elderflower-inspired Isle of Flowers for something new. The beer list includes local and industry favorites. The wine list offers options for the beginner, adventurous, and experienced palates. The red-heavy wine menu includes large format and featured lists showcasing the best of new and old world.

Stepping away from the bar, guests cross the threshold to the fifty-seat patio with lounge space. The second-story patio allows guests to enjoy cocktails and conversation with the elevated view of the 86th street hustle on any night of the week.  In keeping with the industrial feel, the patio is seemingly built by crane structures, including a resting hook above the fireplace.

Chris Farney, General Manager, formerly of CRG’s Stone Creek teams, leads the Front of House team with a passion for providing guests with an experience, not a just a meal. “Our team is well versed in food and wine. We hope to take our guests on a journey through the menu and space, leaving them with an unforgettable dining experience,” said Farney.

In addition to in-house dining, Provision offers a private dining program in conjunction with Ironworks Hotel. Three private dining spaces are available for corporate and social occasions. More information on these is available by contacting the Private Dining Manager Whitney Compton through the website.

Guests staying at the Ironworks Hotel can enjoy Provision as a room service meal.

The Provision team is excited to feature the farms and friends who make the menu what it is; Fischer Farms, Creekstone Farms, Dewig Brothers, Gunthorp Farms, Strauss Veal, Tyner Pond, Viking Lamb, Silverthorne Farm, CRG Grow Greenhouse, Confectioneiress, My Sugar Pie, and Sundae’s Ice Cream.

Provision is located inside the Ironworks Hotel at 2721 E 86th St. Indianapolis, IN 46240. Dinner is served seven nights a week: Monday to Thursday, 4pm to 10pm; Friday & Saturday, 4pm to 11pm; and, Sunday, 4pm to 9pm. The bar will remain open an hour after listed service times each night. Reservations can be made online by visiting www.provision-restaurant.com or by calling 317.843.6105.
