This month Blueline Gallery dives into the works of Patrick Siney and David Ebbinghouse, both of whom use natural elements in construction or their art.

Patrick builds rock cairns, an impermanent fixture that uses rock, balance, and patience, and creates something that brings relaxation and joy to himself and others. His daily installations along such locations as the Jordan River are not grieved when a heavy rain washes them away---“To me, that’s what it represents---that nothing is permanent.”

David combines elements of nature, from bones to plant fiber, from thousand year old geodes to hair gathered in our lifetime; “I am taking my aesthetic impulses back to the dawn of humanity to where hunter gatherers noticed objects in their wanderings that could be manipulated to a specific purpose.” David’s work aims to impress its viewers with a sense of introspection, in attempt to “redirect your perceptions of our world.”
