Saturday, February 7th, 2015 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, all FGA members and the public are invited to attend the 9TH annual Winter Conference, to be held at Batesville Intermediate School Cafeteria.

This is a special year as we celebrate our year-long collaboration with Purdue University’s project on Rebuilding Our Local Food System, and the recent awarding of a $30,000 grant to begin planning a farmer training program to support our local food system.

Speakers and topics for the Winter Conference are:
Ande and Lola Schewe, local growers, will speak on Herb Production and Products;
Michael Morrow, Hoosier Harvest Market’s Market Master, will speak on diversifying your farm and marketing your local products;
Kay Grimm of the Indiana Nut and Fruit Growers Association, will speak on bramble production;
Our keynote speakers will be Chris Baggot and Nick Carter, co-founders of HUSK.  They  will speak about the importance of local food and getting it to the community;
Jodee Ellett, Heather Strohm and Tanya Hall from Purdue Extension will facilitate the afternoon session regarding our strategic local food plan and how we can all be involved.

Lunch will be provided, catered by Aramark Catering, caterer to the Hill-Rom Center.
Various vendors will also be on-hand to answer questions regarding many different topics AND we will have a mini winter farm market for you to enjoy.

The seminar is $20 per person.  Reservations for this seminar should be made in advance by February 2nd to Deanna Hookway at 812-212-5432 or Deanna_hookway@etczone.com.
