Spring Forward 2016 is an event to celebrate the gardening community. We invite you to join us, Saturday, March 12, 2016 for an afternoon of fellowship, education and socializing. Guest speakers Joe Lamp’l Growing a Greener World and Roger Swain of PBS The Victory Garden, will offer an afternoon of unique views of our communities. The ticket package also include a menu dinner served by our host, Teibel’s Family Restaurant in Schererville, Indiana.

 

Joe Lamp’l, Growing a Greener World, has a nationwide audience who has watched him as host of the popular series, Fresh from the Garden on DIY Network and GardenSMART on PBS. As one of the country’s most recognized and trusted personalities in gardening and sustainability, today, he combines his national television experience and expertise of gardening, environmental stewardship and passion for living a more eco-friendly life, as host and producer of Growing a Greener World on public television. Joe also shares his know-how on NBC’s TODAY SHOW, ABC’s Good Morning America, The Weather Channel and more.

Off-camera, he is founder & CEO of The Joe Gardener® Company, devoted to environmentally responsible gardening and sustainable outdoor living. Joe is deeply committed to “growing a greener world” through his popular books, blog and podcast series, nationally syndicated newspaper column, and regular contributions to popular magazines and social media networks.

Roger Swain, “the man with the red suspenders”, is recognized by millions as host of The Victory Garden, television’s longest-running gardening show. For fifteen years Roger planted and pruned, harvested and chatted with PBS viewers across the country. More recently, he co-hostedPeople, Places and Plants on HGTV, a show which celebrates New England gardens and gardeners, and features his commentary, “Food for Thought.”. Biologist, gardener, writer and storyteller, Roger Swain was born and raised outside Boston Massachusetts. He graduated from Harvard College, and went on to earn a Ph.D., studying the behavior in ants in tropical rain forests, before becoming Science Editor of Horticulture magazine. Since 1978 readers have been enjoying Roger’s essays and articles in that magazine, as well as his five books: Earthly Pleasures, Field Days, The Practical Gardener, Saving Graces, and Groundwork. He has received the American Horticultural Society Award for Writing, and the Massachusetts Horticultural Society Gold Medal for his “power to inspire others.”
