Who Will Answer The Call to “Come Show Us Your Loins?” Visitors to Greensburg, Indiana on
Saturday, July 25th will find out for themselves during Mainstreet Greensburg’s annual Tenderloin
Throwdown!
Competitors will be vying for top honors in FOUR categories: Breaded, Grilled, Creative, and the People’s Choice. An esteemed panel of judges will gather from many areas of the state to sample the tasty loins in each category. Visitors will be also be the judge by participating in the People’s Choice category.
Why a Tenderloin Throwdown? “Hoosier Soul Food” is how one tenderloin groupie describes it.
“Greensburg is home to many restaurants that serve their unique variations of the tenderloin, so we thought, ‘Why not invite all to a throwdown and see who comes out on top?’” says Stephanie Kress,
Mainstreet Greensburg. It shouldn’t be hard to find, just head down to the square and the festivities will be all around the famous Tree on the Courthouse tower!
There is more to do than just watch the competition. The Tenderloin Throwdown is a family fun event with many activities for all ages. Last year our Kid’s Zone had a variety of activities for even our smallest visitors including: a bouncy house obstacle course, a 16 ft tall inflatable slide, gold fish pond, and an air brush tattoo artist. For the healthy-minded individual a Spartan Boot Camp demonstration was presented by Change Fitness so that you could work off what you eat. If shopping is your thing we have vendors set up for the day and many wonderful downtown shops open for the event. In 2015 we plan to bring all of this and more to the Tenderloin Throwdown.
