Located three miles west of Historical Pendleton, Smith Family Farms has been in operation since 1900. Jennifer and Neal Smith are the sixth generation to work the family farm along with their sons who make up the seventh generation.
Smith Family Farms

It is a grain and livestock farm with about 2500 acres of corn and soybeans planted each year. They also have 100 cows, and they raise the calves to sell for freezer beef or for show calves. The Smith's cattle are grass and grain fed.

Smith Family Farms is currently in the process of opening a meat market in Pendleton. Until that opens, visitors can buy meat directly from the farm or at the Pendleton, Saxony, or Noblesville farmers’ markets on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Starting in October, Smith Family Farms opens up their pumpkin patch where visitors can pick their own pumpkin. The fall festivities also include a petting zoo, pony rides, hayrides, and a corn maze. They’re open every weekend from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Additionally, Smith Family Farms hosts a winter farmer’s market on the second Thursday of each month from November through April. Consumers can buy a wide variety of products including farm fresh freezer beef, pasta, homemade pies, brown eggs, and chickens.
