Peel the avocado and pit it. Chop the scallions, garlic clove and deseed the jalapeno pepper.
Put English cucumber, avocado, scallions, chicken broth, sour cream, lemon juice, salt, pepper (to taste), cumin, jalapeno pepper and garlic clove in a blender and blend until smooth.
Chill and serve in cocktail glasses.
