Lavender Shortbread Cookies

Cream together butter and sugar. Sift flour and salt. Add to butter mixture until incorporated. Add vanilla and lemon extracts and lavender.

Form dough into logs and wrap in plastic. Refrigerate until firm.

Slice dough into ½-inch-thick slices. Lay on parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake at 325°F for 10–15 minutes, until edges are slightly golden brown. 


  • 3 cups butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar

  • ⅓ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • ¾ teaspoon lemon extract
  • 3 tablespoons lavender buds
