Ingredients

  • 2 ounces Cardinal Spirits Standard Dry Gin infused with dandelion root tea (instructions below)
  • ¾ ounce strawberry-black pepper syrup (recipe below)
  • ¾ ounce fresh lemon juice
  • Lemon twist, for garnish

Preparation

Add all ingredients except for garnish to a shaker, then add ice. Shake well, then double strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.

Bartenders note: To make the infused gin: Combine one bottle of Cardinal Spirits Standard Dry Gin with two bags of dandelion root tea. Let steep for 2-3 hours, then remove tea bags.

To make the strawberry-black pepper syrup: In a saucepan, combine 1 cup sugar, 1 cup water, 1 cup chopped strawberries and 1/4 cup ground black pepper. Bring to a simmer for 10 minutes. Strain strawberries and black pepper, and allow to cool completely before using.
