Beer Makes Us Happy

Did you make it to the Brewers of Indiana Guild Winterfest on Saturday, January 30^th? If not, you missed out on hundreds of pretzel-necklace-laden beer geeks rubbing elbows in line waiting to try pours from their favorite breweries, or perhaps from one they had never before seen. 

Over 75 breweries were featured at the Blue Ribbon Pavilion at the Indiana State Fair grounds, from the far and wide reaches of the state from microbrews to large production breweries. Drink Indiana beer souvenirs were offered for sale, a Cask Tent featured some exceptionally rare tastes and there were even two coffee stations to caffeinate between rounds, or for those that were kind enough to serve as designated drivers for the afternoon. 

But the beer wasn’t the best part of the event—the people were what truly made the day amazing. Someone even said to me “98% of the people here are happy.” Even when someone broke their tasting glass, individual hands would rise to the sky holding up theirs and give a gentle roar.   

The Brewers Guild of Indiana was organized in 2000, and is “a non-profit trade association that provides a unifying voice for the craft breweries and brewpubs of Indiana.” You can learn more about the beer that makes us happy made right here in Indiana at DrinkIN.beer
