The Inn Place to Stay: Hotel Broad Ripple

Located about six miles north of downtown along the banks of the White River is the Village of Broad Ripple. This 100+ year old enclave of businesses, eateries, residences and galleries is one of the oldest and well-established cultural scenes in Indianapolis. It serves as a destination for the thousands of runners, bikers and strollers utilizing the converted “rail to trail” Monon Trail running right through the center of the Village. The Village of Broad Ripple is a mecca for young and old alike.

Nestled between the White River and the Monon Trail is Hotel Broad Ripple: “The Inn Place to Stay”. The dream child of Debra and Charles Hasbrook, this boutique hotel opened with nine rooms in May of 2014 with the hope of filling a void in lodging options in the midtown area of the city. Two existing structures were repurposed to create an inviting, comfortable upscale hotel with the feel of a contemporary lodge. Since then, two additional adjacent buildings have been purchased adding 4 more guest rooms and an event space. Additional rooms are anticipated in the next few years. Each of the existing 13 rooms is unique in size, number and type of beds, and décor. Guests often try different rooms with each visit to experience each of them.

Hotel Broad Ripple also houses The Bunkhouse Lounge. This casual, comfortable setting offers a choice selection of wines and local craft beers for hotel guests and those who might stroll in off the trail. Small, healthy appetizer plates are also available.

Hotel Broad Ripple is beautifully situated on a spacious green lawn adjacent to the Monon Trail. Adirondack chairs on the lawn and on the many decks of the guest rooms offer the perfect spots for relaxing and watching life on the trail. Since its inception this space has allowed the hotel to add to the cultural events of the Village with Thursday evening outdoor movies, live music on the weekends and monthly flea markets. Several couples have also chosen the yard for their wedding ceremonies.

Hotel Broad Ripple’s event space is the perfect spot for business meetings, bridal/baby showers or social gatherings. It’s round conference table seating 12 is the focus of the clean, light-filled, contemporary space.
