Louie’s Wine Dive & Ripple Kitchen Opens in Broad Ripple
If you love Broad Ripple, you’ve probably shaken your head a million times at the empty spot at the corner of College and Broad Ripple Avenue. Once a Barley Island Brewing Company and before that a beloved Scholar’s Inn Bakehouse (don’t even get me started on the real tears I cried when it closed), this spot has remained vacant for years—until now. Louie’s Wine Dive has opened its second Indianapolis location (the other is on Mass Ave) in this 3,300 square-foot space, complete with custom wood work and inviting light features.
“We are very excited about the opportunity to serve the people in and around Broad Ripple, an area which is already home to many of our most loyal guests,” said Whitney VinZant, owner and CEO of Louie’s Wine Dive. “We want to continue making wine accessible while showcasing our casual approach to food in a comfortable and eclectic setting.”
Louie’s Wine Dive & Ripple Kitchen, as this location is named, boasts a seasonal menu, auction wine sold daily, Saturday and Sunday brunch featuring bottomless mimosas (yes, read that again to let that sink in) and a list of signature libations, even one called The Broad Ripple cocktail which is whiskey forward and served with lavender and vanilla infused dolin blanc. You can also choose from local craft beers and of course, wine. You can grab eats like shrimp tacos and deviled eggs with bacon.
You can visit Louie’s at 701 Broad Ripple Avenue M–Th 11am–10pm, Fridays 11am–11pm, Saturdays 9am–11pm and Sundays 9am–8pm, with bar service later for drinks.
