Porter Books & Bread

Tucked away in the Fort Ben Community, this locally owned café combines two great passions: food and literature. They focus on handmade food, Indiana ingredients and great coffee with the promise of good reads too.

Ralph and Ava’s

What We Love: Ralph and Ava’s Café in Mooresville is owned by Paul and Toni Ford and leading the pack in mastering the art of “local”. They get cake from Sugar Momma’s, Pie from Bran N Shorts, alcohol from local wineries and breweries, employ local artists for their live music nights and provide the catering for almost all of Mallow Run Winery's events! Their theory is "We're all in this together". The sandwiches are old time classics and new favorites.

Everett’s Place

What We Love: One of Winchester favorite lunch spots and located in the same historic building as the local theatre. Everett’s is most notably known for the made from scratch daily specials and sandwiches.   The entire menu is taste bud worthy however we hear the House Cuban, Reuben Sandwich and Trudy's Chicken Salad are local favorites. Don’t forget to try homemade pies!

The Curve Inn

Why We Love It: The Wednesday chicken special brings in the crowd—arrive early as it’s only available until they run out. Pizza is popular, and the Alexandria favorite is the Boss Hog! Make sure your age fits the bill, 21+ only.

Jo Jo’s Pretzels

Why We Love It: Take a load off after “vintage inspired” shopping at the three-story Davis Mercantile. JoJo’s Pretzels are hand rolled soft pretzels and a must when visiting Shipshewana. Bonus: Wash them own with a large variety of dipping mustards and flavored sodas!

Blackerby’s Hangar 5

Take your picnic inside and enjoy the runway full of planes entering and exiting Columbus Airport. So many choices on this menu made from scratch, with breakfast, brunch and dinner available. Popular dishes are the breakfast quiches, pressure fried chicken, hand-breaded tenderloins and pie.

Igloo Frozen Custard

Why We Love It: Two locations with recipes handed down over four generations. The custard and drink choices alone will make you want to come back, and the unique combinations are endless. They offer several family recipe custard flavors daily. Carry out, eat al fresco, or dine in.
