Rising Chef: Jordan Allen of Milktooth

29-year-old Jordan Allen is an Indiana native originally from Francesville. He had always had an interest in cooking, and he’s been in the business on and off for ten years. But it wasn’t until he moved to Indianapolis five years ago that he decided to make a career out of it. He was inspired by seeing other cooks use sustainable agriculture at “farm to table” restaurants.

His favorite meal ever eaten was when he was 19-years-old. He had been swimming all day at a friend’s parents’ pool, and they communally ate some smoked "butt" and trout. It was the first time he had eaten food prepared that way, and it has stuck with him ever since. 

His favorite restaurant ever is Paynes BBQ in Memphis, Tennessee.

Jordan likes to cook pretty much everything; he enjoys the experience of each new dish and ingredient he has the opportunity to work with.

His kitchen staple is eggs.
