Heartland Distillers / Colglazier & Hobson Distilling Co.
Located in Indianapolis, Indiana, Heartland Distillers makes all of their spirits in copper stills. According to Stuart, the copper acts on the mash to create a clean, smooth finish. Additionally, Heartland Distillers uses the batch distillation method – that means they always remove the first part of the batch. Stuart says many large spirit producers leave this in jeopardizing the integrity of their product.
A lifelong Hoosier, Stuart appreciates the quality ingredients Indiana has to offer, and he has made it his mission to use local ingredients whenever possible. He delights in giving his products a “local flavor.”
Heartland Distillers is best known for its award-winning Indiana Vodka. It won a Gold Medal at the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2010. Other notable products from Heartland Distillers are its Prohibition Gin, Indiana Infusions vodka, and Spring Mill Bourbon.
You can find their products at select liquor stores throughout the state.
Heartland Distillers currently isn’t open to the public, but according to their website they will soon be opening for limited tours and cocktails.
