Abbiocco Pizzeria: Meet Our Maker
If you ever thought there was no way pizza and pasta could get any better, think again. Abbiocco Pizzeria is bringing “traditional pizza and pastas with a Peruvian flair” to The Garage.Visitors will enjoy pizzas and made-to-order pastas featuring flavors influenced by owner Carla McDaniel’s South American heritage. Following the success of her City Market restaurants, Mambo’s Cheesesteak Grill and Mauricio’s Pizzeria, Carla’s Abbiocco Pizzeria offers a modern, upscale vibe.
We sat down with Carla to learn more about Abbiocco Pizzeria and what makes The Garage the perfect spot for her newest concept.
Why is The Garage important to boosting downtown Indianapolis?
I believe The Garage will provide the city with a fun and exciting new way for locals and visitors alike to immerse themselves in an environment rich with diverse foods and backgrounds. With Abbiocco, we are contributing to The Garage experience by adding something completely unique - traditional pizza and pasta meals with a South American twist.
When customers visit you at The Garage, what is one thing they need to try or buy from you?
Try a twist! Each of our non-traditional pizzas and pasta meals will provide our customers with a delicious, one-of-a-kind experience!
Outside of your own business, what maker are you most excited to try at The Garage?
Azúcar Morena for the Venezuelan Arepas and Poke Guru because you just can’t go wrong with a healthy and flavorful Poke!
How is The Garage Food Hall making a difference for your business? How is it taking you to the next level?
The Garage is providing my business with the platform to cater to a new client base. We’re exposing our cuisine to more parts of Indianapolis, which allows us to grow as a company and experiment with our South American flavors. We are very excited to expand on the introduction of Peruvian cuisine to the Indy community!
