The Garage Food Hall : A Community of Makers and More
The maker community is excited to announce the city’s first food hall and community marketplace is coming to the Bottleworks District this winter to downtown Indianapolis. The Garage Food Hall will feature more than 20 independently owned local and regional vendors, bringing together Midwestern culinary talent and an eclectic mix of specialty retail.
With 36,000 square feet of marketplace to explore, guests will find adventure and delight in all The Garage has to offer. As its name suggests, the food hall occupies a garage alongside the former now historical Coca Cola bottling plant located on Indy’s famous Massachusetts Avenue, which once operated on the site. The reimagined space will offer indoor and outdoor seating perfect for taking in the historic building’s Art Deco terra cotta facades and industrial architecture. The details are breathtaking.
Visitors will be able to stroll through The Garage and take in the tastes and flavors of Venezuelan fare at Azucar Morena, lobster rolls at J’s Lobster & Fish Market, locals’ favorite burgers at Clancy’s Hamburgers and signature spirits at cocktail bar concept Hard Truth Distillery. Garage goers will also check out the latest new and used records from Square Cat Vinyl, shop for outdoor gear with a purpose at Becker Supply Co., get a great shave and haircut at Brick & Mortar, peruse Pumkinfish’s assortment of unique gifts & goodies, and grab a cup of coffee with Certain Feelings plus other makers who are embedded in the Indianapolis community.
One word to describe The Garage is community. Each tenant’s space has been completely customized based on their vision for kitchen or retail space while keeping the integrity and history of the building. Though each space is designed differently, there’s a core belief that everyone is working together to make The Garage a gathering place for all walks of life and a true melting pot of Indianapolis.
The Garage Food Hall is opening soon as part of Phase I of the Bottleworks District, the largest private development of its kind in Indiana. In addition to the food hall, Phase I includes the development of the highly anticipated Bottleworks Hotel, venture studio High Alpha’s new headquarters and Living Room Theaters, an eight-auditorium cinema with a bar and lounge.
Smack in the middle of the Mass Ave and Chatham Arch neighborhoods, The Garage’s location caters to Indianapolis-area residents and visitors alike. So, if you’re hungry for experience, get ready to be fed by entrepreneurs who push boundaries, shape tastes and are going to put Indianapolis on the culinary map.
