The distillery makes 18 Vodka, a drink named after the number of times it is distilled. The vodka is made from 100 percent American grown rye. Most other vodkas on the market are potato or wheat-based, but according to Steve rye has been enjoying renewed interest among beer brewers and whiskey drinkers.

Unlike many spirit products, the entire 18 Vodka production process – from grinding, to mashing, to fermentation, to distilling and bottling – is controlled by Virtuoso’s team of distillers at their Grape Rd location.

Virtuoso Distillers offers tours at their facility Wednesday through Sunday from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. You can purchase 18 Vodka directly at their facility and select restaurants, liquor stores, and bars throughout Indiana.

Bruce and Carol Waterman opened the doors to Waterman’s Farm Market in 1978 with the goal of providing a supply of healthy, fresh produce to the larger public.

Most of the crops on Waterman’s Family Farm are “U-pick,” but they also sell their produce in a fresh market at the farm. They sell a wide variety of produce including apples, blueberries, cantaloupe, melons, peaches, strawberries, watermelons, beans, beets, cucumbers, eggplant, greens, onions, okra, peas, peppers, potatoes, pumpkins, squash, sweet corn, tomatoes, turnips, zucchini, cilantro, dill, and Thai basil.

Additionally, they host field trips and group tours that educate participants about life on a farm.

Be sure to check out their Strawberry Festival in early June and their Fall Festival that starts in late September and runs through the month of October. They’re open late May through early November, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. They also have a Greenwood location, 1100 N Ind. 37, Greenwood, Indiana 46143, that’s only open during Strawberry season and October.

Why We Love It: This Lafayette Winery is hosting their 2^nd Annual Barbecue, Bluegrass and Blueberry Festival May 20th. The celebration is in honor of the release of the Bicentennial Blueberry Wine. Wildcat Winery is locally owned and housed in a small countryside antique farmhouse using local fruit to produce the hand-crafted wines.

Given the name “The Nectar of the Gods” by a loyal patron, the Modec White, is a lovely sweet wine with hints of honey and peach!
